Book Trailers
What are "Book Trailers"?
Book trailers are like movie trailers, only for
books. It's a way to promote your book visually (and
audibly) to people who might not otherwise see, hear
about, or know about your book. The purpose of a
book trailer, like a movie trailer, is to highlight the
hook of a book, and to entertain in some way.
Book trailers come in all forms, but we at Bemis
Promotions think we have something new to offer over
other companies.
Why Choose Bemis Promotions for my Book Trailer?
Video book Trailers have gotten a lot of buzz--not
all of it good!--particularly when it comes to really
delivering a bang for the author's buck. It is our
belief that most traditional book trailers fail to
deliver for an author because of one thing: Words
on the screen. Viewers are used to seeing
the hooks of a story unfold very quickly with movie
trailers, which is nearly impossible when a trailer is
designed for people of all reading speeds to be able to
read them. Our way of promoting today's hottest novels, combines classy photos (or very short stock video) timed
to great music, with a snappy script and compelling
voice over.
We choose only to create narrated trailers. While
other companies may be able to provide basic trailers
less expensively, we feel that ours are more effective.
So I want a book trailer... what's the
process?
First,
contact us. In order that we give you the best
product possible, we prefer that we have at least a
month preparation before a trailer goes live if we are
using stock images or video and two months if we are
going to need to shoot the photography or video
ourselves. Remember that you'll want your trailer up at
least a couple of months before your book hits the
shelves.
Then we will read your book and/or work with you to
create a script and find music that will reflect the
tone of your story.
After we've decided on a script we'll hire (a)
narrator(s) to lay down the vocal track(s). We'll either
hire and photograph models (if necessary) or find the
images that will reflect the themes of your story.
Finally, we'll put the trailer together and post it
to YouTube so that you can imbed it in your website.
